Heated Hair Rollers

Heated Hair Rollers

For those women who find styling their hair with a brush and blow dryer difficult, heated hair rollers are an excellent option to help with those all too common awkward hair days. The hairstyle will usually stay set for a longer period of time and can help for those in need of a quick solution to tame unruly hair.

Before the invention of Velcro, hair rollers had to be pinned in place - this is now no longer necessary. Hot rollers can cost anywhere between $50 to $150. They can be bought at both local stores or online like most other beauty and hair products. Generally, hair rollers are the best used with longer hair.

Very Easy to Use

Generally, hot rollers are very easy to use; the device is simply switched on - the rollers then become heated. A signaling light will then usually indicate when the rollers are ready for use. You can then put on the roller by starting at your hair tips then moving towards the top curling your hair around. Clip the rollers in place and allow them to completely cool before removing them. Although hair rollers are slightly more expensive than a curling iron, the curls formed with rollers will last much longer and produce a full head of flawless curls.

So How do they Work

Heated hair rollers usually have a small amount of wax inside which gets warm when the set is plugged into an electric outlet. Hot rollers usually take around ten minutes to heat up, about 15 to 20 minutes to apply and finally 15 minutes to set your hair in place. You may need another few minutes depending on the styling technique you intend to use. To retain the shape of your curls, you could also make use of a styling spray or gel. Buying heated rollers will depend on individual preference and texture of your hair, if possible try them out to see if they work well with your hair type.
